An excursion into the medieval working world of miners and ore mining 600 years ago. Austria's most beautiful copper ore gallery begins in the winding Georg mine and continues on wooden stairs past the wooden ore slide to the "Ersoffenen Gesenk", the lowest point in the mountain. The guide takes you through shafts up to the Barbara mine, where you can admire the rich ore and minerals in all their colourful splendour, up to three metres thick. In the museum you can admire a cross-section of the mineralogical diversity of the province of Salzburg as well as some foreign exhibits.
Children from the age of 4 can take part in the guided tours.
Dogs are not allowed on the guided tours.
Sturdy shoes and warm clothing are recommended.
