The completion of the New Residence took more than 100 years and 3 archbishops.
Today, state rooms and the Salzburg Museum can be visited in the New Residence.
The Salzburg Glockenspiel with its 35 bells took 2 years to restore and gives pleasure to the locals and visitors of Salzburg three times a day with familiar melodies in three octaves with all semitones. The repertoire includes 100 different pieces of music by various composers. The carillon is driven mechanically or can also be operated by hand crank. Visit the carillon tower as part of a guided tour and you will be doubly amazed - on the one hand by the technical achievement, and on the other by the wonderful panoramic view of the city of Salzburg.

If only we could preserve the current weather for a few days! But one of the oldest proverbs says panta rhei (everything is in a state of flux), and this particularly applies to the weather in Central Europe! After the sunshine of yesterday, the weather will deteriorate again. The cloud will gradually thicken and snow showers will arrive by evening.

Thursday, bands of clouds will still cover the sky and produce a few snowflakes. On Friday, high pressure will return to us!
