Landmark of the municipality of Kaprun.
The construction of the castle probably dates back to the 12th century. It was first mentioned in documents in the 13th century.
After the castle's steady decline, the castle association acquired the property and rebuilt it.
Today the castle serves as a venue for events. The highlight is the two-day castle festival with a medieval market and free-fighting tournaments.
Guided tours of the castle take place once a week.

If only we could preserve the current weather for a few days! But one of the oldest proverbs says panta rhei (everything is in a state of flux), and this particularly applies to the weather in Central Europe! After the sunshine of yesterday, the weather will deteriorate again. The cloud will gradually thicken and snow showers will arrive by evening.

Thursday, bands of clouds will still cover the sky and produce a few snowflakes. On Friday, high pressure will return to us!
